The Friary of St Athanasius of Brest was founded on the outskirts of Brest. it was done with the blessing of Patriarch Alexey II. The friary was built on the site of the martyrdom of St. Athanasius Filippovich, an abbot of Brest, in the village of Arcadia in 1995 (today it’s Gershon District).
